Here’s how it all works:
1. Who are we? We're Future Publishing Ltd - we’re the people running this prize draw or competition. Our address is Quay House, The Ambury, Bath, BA1 1UA.
2. Who can enter:
2.1 If you're 13 or older, you can enter by yourself if you live in the UK.
2.2 If you're under 13, you can enter if your parent or guardian says ‘yes’ and you live in the UK.
2.3. We might ask for proof of your age or proof that your parent/guardian said ‘yes’.
3. Who can’t enter: Anyone who works or is related to someone who works for Future (that's us!), our other companies, or the prize sponsor can't enter.
4. You don’t have to buy anything to enter! Entry is free.
5. How many times can you enter?
5.1 Prize Draws: You can only enter once! If you send more entries, or if you send entries in different ways (like one by post and another by email), we will only count the first entry we get. If your entry is late or if it’s not complete, we won’t be able to accept it.
5.2 Competitions: The competition guidelines will set out how many times you can enter. If your entry is late or if it’s not complete, we won’t be able to accept it.
6. Your entry must be your own work! Please don’t copy anyone else’s work, or use artificial intelligence (AI) tools, or other automatic tools to create your entry. This means that any entries you send to us must be work that you have created yourself. We can't be responsible if your entry gets lost or damaged when it's sent to us.
7. How we pick the winner and tell you:
7.1 For Prize Draws: We'll pick a winner by chance from all the correct entries.
7.2 For Competitions: Our judges will pick the winner(s) based on the guidelines that we publish with the competition. The decision of our editors and judges is final.
7.3 We'll email you (or your parent/guardian) within 28 days after the end date to say you've won! We'll also ask for a UK address to send your prize.
7.4. If we don't hear back from the winner within 28 days, we'll have to pick someone else.
8. About the prize: We or our sponsor will send the prize to you. Sometimes, if we can’t get the exact prize, we may send a different one that is just as good or even better. You can’t swap the prize for money, or for a different prize.
9. Your personal details: We will not share your (or your child’s) personal details with anyone else, unless you've won a prize and we need to share your details so you can get it. We'll only use these details to send you the prize, and not for marketing.
10. How we use your entry: If you send us an entry, we might show it off, for example, in our magazines, on our websites, social media, marketing, or our partners (the prize sponsors) might want to show it on their websites, social media, exhibitions, or marketing too. You still own your work. You give us permission to do this for up to one year after the end date. You can always tell us ‘No’ if you don't want us to use your entry like this - we will always try our best to respect your decision quickly (but sometimes, if a magazine has already been printed, there might be a small delay). We will never share your contact details. We'll only use your first name (and maybe your age/county if you tell us) next to your entry, if we use it. If you win, we might ask you to take part in some fun media stuff for the competition (like an interview or photo). You can always say 'No' to this, and we will of course respect your decision.
11. Want to see who won? After six weeks (unless we say otherwise) you can ask us for a list of winners. We'll only share their surname (family name) and the county they live in. But if you win, and don't want your name on this list, you can always say ‘No’!
12. Agreeing to the rules: When you enter, it means you or your parent or guardian agrees to these rules, and our privacy policy. If you need any help or have any questions on these rules, just ask us using our contact details.
